Tomato picks Carroll

The Hot Tomato Broadcasting Company has announced the appointment of Louise Carroll Marketing to assist with the launch of the Gold Coast’s new FM radio station on 102.9.

General Manager Graham Miles is “delighted” to have Louise Carroll join the FM102.9 Team. ”Louise Carroll brings to Hot Tomato a wealth of experience in the media industry, particularly radio, that is unsurpassed in Queensland. Her advice will be integral to the short and long term success of this radio station in the Gold Coast market.”

Louise Carroll told radioinfo she is excited about being part of the launch management team: “There is great potential for FM102.9 Hot Tomato in the current Gold Coast marketplace. As the city of the Gold Coast grows, a new radio station will only bring major benefits to the local community in terms of creating a dynamic and interesting diversity of media outlets.”

The Hot Tomato Broadcasting Company Pty Ltd applied in September of 2002 for a variation in antennae height from 22 to 63 meters, which the ABA granted in February 2003. The additional height “will ensure the best reception for Gold Coast radio listening audiences.”

The Gold Coast is Australia’s fasted growing market with an estimated base population of 462,000 people, which is expected to exceed 500,000 by 2005. It is estimated that the Gold Coast’s during peak holiday seasons gets as high as 1 million.

Louise Carroll operates a successful marketing consultancy based in Southport and has been associated with some of Queensland’s premier corporate clients, events and concerts, most recently the 2003 Rolling Stones ‘Licks’ Australian Tour.
