Even though it was just for one morning, Geoff Field this morning reunited with KIIS 106.5's breakfast duo Kyle and Jackie O.

Geoff worked with Kyle and Jackie O at 2DayFM for 7 years from late 2003 to March 2010 before leaving under “mysterious circumstances”.

"I started working with Kyle and Jackie O in late 2003, before being hired as their newsreader for their national drive show in 2004 - I then moved with them to breakfast in 2005 and stayed with them till March 2010.

"In that time I became a third member of the show, with many great things happening like “Sydney’s first illegal gay wedding” where I had a ceremony with my partner Jason to highlight the fact that same sex marriage was not allowed in this country", he told radioinfo yesterday.

We caught up with Geoff this morning to see how things went and apparently he was so nervous on his way into the studios he almost vomitted in the taxi, but all that changed when he was greeted by the staff at KIIS FM.

"I was kept in the greenroom and only saw Kyle and Jackie together for the first time in 6 years as I walked into the studio.

"We immediately let go of any disagreements from the past, hugged each other and had a great time on-air.

"It was great to hear callers who remembered me from the old days and I really appreciated the member for Sydney Alex Greenwich calling in to thank me for tieing the knot in the illegal gay wedding in 2005, saying it help start the debate on same sex marriage," he said.

Newsreader Brooklyn even handed Geoff the reins to read the 9 o'clock bulletin, just like the old days.

"I was not sure whether it would be a good idea to revisit the past, but now I’ve done it, I’m so glad I did,and it felt like we had never been part.

The big question on industry lips now is, will Geoff be back?

"He sounded amazing on radio this morning just like the old days with K&J", commented one industry insider.

"A lot of water has passed under the bridge and it felt great to be reunited," said Geoff.

It must have, Geoff has updated his cover photo on FB in celebration.
