Thank you Nova for always being team Rita: Red Room with Rita Ora

“Thank you Nova for always being team Rita and always supporting new music and thank you to Warner – the best label in the world,” Rita Ora told Tim Blackwell at Nova’s Red Room last night.

To celebrate the release of new single ‘Bang Bang’  Rita Ora’s  performance was enjoyed by an intimate crowd at Warner Music in Sydney including Nova’s listeners who won tickets to the event along with Nova Talent Tim Blackwell (of Kate, Tim & Joel show) who hosted the event.

Nova CEO Pete Charlton and Nova Chief Programming and Marketing Officer Paul Jackson were also there, along with smoothfm’s Richard Wilkins, Nova newsreader Matt de Groot and Warner Music CEO Dan Rosen plus Warner VP Publicity and Promotions Billy MacLeod.

Rita performed a collection of number hit singles including Anywhere, Your Song, Let You Love Me and a rousing acoustic version of her latest hit Bang Bang which had the crowd hypnotised. Onstage Rita said she is loving her time down under: “I never want to leave. It’s so beautiful here for so many reasons,” she told Blackwell.

No stranger to Nova’s Red Room stage, having performed for Melbourne fans in 2017, Rita Ora is the first artist to kick off Nova’s Red Room 2021 series, supported by new Australian DJ duo Kinder.

Rita Ora is a critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, with four #1 UK singles and holds the record for the most Top 10 singles for a British female artist in the UK (13). Rita headlined this year’s Mardi Gras on 7 March and is a coach on the upcoming series of The Voice Australia.

She told Tim Blackwell about The Voice: “It’s fun, it’s got so much amazingness and crazy surprises and the other coaches are great but I feel like I’m the best coach… but they’re all going to say that about themselves! The voice is the best show talent.  Fingers crossed team Rita wins!”

Sibling duo Kinder hail from Maitland NSW and released their debut single ‘What You’re Like’ in 2018 and recently released single ‘Come Along’ after spending several years touring the DJ and EDM circuit, opening for Marshmello and RL Grimes.

Nova’s Red Room has seen over 250 international and local artists having perform money can’t buy experiences for fans.
