Tech and radio: more than just AM vs streaming

Tech commentator Trevor Long has been announced as the final plenary speaker at the CBAA conference. 

The conference will take place from 9-12 November at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, featuring experts and leaders from the community radio sector, hands-on sessions covering issues such as leadership, station tech, content programming, finances and community engagement. Long will touch on the latest in consumer technology and its potential impact on the radio industry, including new ways to reach and engage with audiences, and new ways to measure reach and effectiveness. With more than 20 years media experience, Long is a well-recognised technology journalist who works behind the scenes to host live radio, provides regular segments on national radio and has produced over 700 podcasts on technology. 

He hosts a nightly hour-long technology talk-back program on the Talking Lifestyle network, provides weekly reports on the latest in technology to radio stations right across Australia and regularly appears as the resident Technology Expert on Channel 9’s A Current Affair and The Today Show. Long also has the two top tech podcasts in Australia – Your Tech Life, and Two Blokes Talking Tech. He was previously the Manager of Technology Strategy and Innovation for SBS nationally.
