Talk back radio host runs for NSW Senate

NSW talk back radio host Dean Mackin has joined Pauline Hanson’s One Nation Senate team for NSW in the upcoming Federal election, speculated for 2nd July.

Mr Mackin describes himself as a proud, passionate and patriotic Australian who was once asked on-air, “Aren’t you worried about saying the things you say on the radio? You are very outspoken!” to which he responded “I am much more worried about not speaking up and you should be too!”

Mr Mackin says that it is no secret that he is disgruntled with the major political parties and has said that if elected to the Senate, he will be able to give people a voice on the floor of Parliament, not just radio.

Mr Mackin shares a keen interest in technology, after starting one of the first Internet businesses in the early 1990s. He believes that technology should be used to simplify our voting system and is concerned that “people have no way of checking how their votes were counted or if they were counted at all.”

One Nation leader and QLD Senate Candidate, Pauline Hanson, has said that she is 100% behind Mr Mackin and was recently a guest on his show. “Dean has a lot of experience talking to ordinary Australians and that puts him miles ahead of most of our useless politicians,” she said.

Former Cessnock Councillor, Brian Burston, was announced as the lead NSW Senate candidate for Pauline Hanson’s One Nation last month. Ms Hanson has said that the two candidates are already working well together and she will be joining them in NSW in April to officially launch their campaigns with a series of events planned.
