SYN has a new General Manager

Tess Lawley has been appointed as the new General Manager.

Tess is currently the National Youth Media Project Coordinator on SYN Nation, SYN’s digital station which brings young people from around Australia to have their programs broadcast to a national audience.
 
Following her schooling in Benalla, Tess moved to Melbourne to pursue her studies at RMIT University and community radio and joined SYN as a volunteer on programs such as Panorama, Art Smitten and All the Best. Tess has also been a Radio Trainer and is an active volunteer at 3RRR, PBS and is a broadcast radio tutor at RMIT.
 
SYN President Andy Lynch said that while the Board considered candidates of all ages and levels of experience they were inspired by Tess’ commitment and leadership in the sector:
 
The Board couldn’t be happier to appoint someone young, deeply connected and passionate about community broadcasting. Tess brings an incredible energy and exciting vision for how SYN can operate successfully as a national organisation.”

Tess will commence in the role on October 27 while in the meantime, Jonathan Brown will continue as Acting General Manager.
