Stations praying for good result for last survey of 2012.

Mayan prophecy notwithstanding, this morning’s results from Nielsen are the ones stations must live with till mid February 2013, when the cycle starts all over again.

Perhaps in thousands of years time, some self-endorsed prophet will dig up an old chart of survey release dates and call it The Nielsen Calendar claiming that it is a portent of doom because in ancient times, the calendar was divided into eight months, not 12.

And at the end of each “month” heads would roll according to the numbers that Nielsen and his followers secretly wrote in the holy book.

Of course, millions will be spent on interpreting what exactly the numbers meant.

Not much will have changed.
