Survey 7: Who cares and who doesn’t

Find out tomorrow when GfK Survey 7 is released, here on radioinfo.

For 2Day FM in Sydney and Mix 101.1 (soon to be KIIS) in Melbourne, the release of Survey 7, the penultimate for 2014, won’t mean much because they’re already focused on the changes planned for 2015.

Although it’s better to go up than down, either way, SCA will downplay the result at Adelaide’s newly ordained hit107 because it’s too early to tell. On the other hand, they should be keenly interested in the results for the Triple M brand nationally and particularly in Melbourne where together with FOX they hold the number one and two FM positions in a very tight race – a vital beach head they’d like to defend.

As the great radio race caller Ken Howard used to say, “It’s London to a brick” that Alan Jones will chalk up his 100th straight survey win at 2GB and the station will easily retain its number one spot. In Melbourne, 3AW will likely do the same.

Back in Sydney, 2UE will be hoping that it can maintain the momentum of the last couple of surveys and maybe climb past a 6.0 share.

ARN will be hoping that Jonesy and Amanda can keep it going at WSFM but also that Kyle and Jackie O at KIIS doesn’t take another dip in share.

Meanwhile, it is unlikely there’ll be any surprises at Nova Entertainment. Both the smoothfm and Nova streams are performing well, although an increase for Nova 96.9, Sydney, would not be unwelcome. And although they won’t be making any major changes for 2015, they’ll certainly be keeping weather eye on the competition and what affect they’ll have in each market.

Join us at radioinfo at 9:30 am tomorrow for the release of GfK Survey 7
