The birthday cake has been eaten, bottles of fizz downed and the candles well and truly blown out following smoothfm‘s fifth birthday celebrations last month.

But will the champagne be flowing again for the Nova Entertainment brand when the results of GfK Survey 3 are released tomorrow morning?

It was #1 FM in both Sydney and Melbourne with 9.9% exactly in both markets following Survey 2 announced in April.

smooth even beat out ABC Sydney for second place overall behind 2GB. smooth took 3rd place overall in Melbourne.

At the time network head Paul Jackson described it as “…the best day in the network’s history”, with things pretty good on the Nova front too.

Even ARN‘s Duncan Campbell was left speechless, “The Sydney numbers for smooth are really something I can’t explain,” he said amid both KIIS and WSFM both losing ground in Sydney.

Meantime it wasn’t a great survey for SCA, with 2Day FM the least of the network’s worries as FOX FM slipped to fifth position in the Melbourne market.

But tomorrow is a new day.
