Sunshine Coast rallies for local lad

Last Friday 919 Sea FM’s BarRat & Jess walked 12 hours straight from Caloundra to Power Memorial Park, Mudjimba, in order to raise much-needed funds for local 5 year-old, Chase.

Chase loves dinosaurs, riding his bike and going for a swim….and has cerebral palsy. After medical treatments every fortnight for the past 3 years, the goal is for Chase to walk unaided. BarRat & Jess want to turn his dream to play and run into a reality, by helping his parents with the costs of upcoming treatment in Adelaide.

BarRat & Jess were joined for the entire 12 hours by Chase’s Dad, Johnno, and a range of sponsors who offered thousands of dollars to sponsor each hour of the walk, which culminated in a total of $42,000 raised including a $15,000 car for Chase and his family, thanks to Cricks Nambour and Noosa.

BarRat & Jess said, This has been truly humbling the fact that the Sunshine Coast not only achieved their goal but well beyond, will now help Chase and his family pay for all the treatment needed for the next few years. To ease the financial burden for this little family is something every Sunny Coaster can be proud of!“
