Stations get into spirit of giving

It looks more like a toy store than 2CA’s studios in Hoskins Street, Mitchell.

2CA is just one of many stations involved in charity fundraising as a tangible contribution to th Christmas spirit.

2CA’s Christmas Toy Appeal for The Salvation Army has resulted in over $10,000 worth of toys be donated by 2CA’s listeners.

“It’s a wonderful response from Canberran’s” says 2CA Program Director, Leighton Archer. “We’re delighted to once again be working with the Salvo’s whose invaluable efforts helps support many families throughout the A.C.T.

“We’ve received a huge amount of soft toys, racing cars, dolls, sporting equipment, books and games – something for everyone.

“Hopefully the amazing contribution from our listeners will result in many A.C.T kids wearing a big smile on Christmas Day,” says Archer.

And on the Gold Coast, Gold FM’s Richard and Bridge have granted a listener’s wish of seeing presents delivered to the children at the Gold Coast Hospital for this Christmas.

Throughout Gold FM’s promotion with Pacific Fair Shopping Centre, ‘Gold FM’s Christmas Wish’ has seen a variety of wishes made through the purchase of baubles at Pacific Fair with all monies raised going to the Starlight Foundation.

The wishes have ranged from material goods, to family reunions and simple Christmas Joys, but Alan Murphy’s wish has truly stood out as a reflection of what others experience at this time of year and how simple it is to try and brighten their day.

Richard and Bridge are incredibly excited about following through Alan’s wish and have been planning throughout the week of how to make it a day to remember for those kids in the hospital at this time of year.

As Bridge explains: ‘It’s always an amazing thing when you witness the generosity of others and we’re just so pleased that we can be a part of it. We love playing Santa during this promotion, but even this wish took us by surprise so we had to do everything possible to grant it.’
