Triple M’s Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire, Mick Molloy and Luke Darcy is the most listened to FM breakfast radio show in Melbourne with a winning share of 8%.

Macquarie Media Limited ‘News Talk’ stations 2GB and 3AW are again the #1 radio stations in Sydney and Melbourne according to today’s GfK Survey 2 results.
 
2GB #1 in Sydney, recording its 103rd consecutive survey victory;

  • 2GB #1 in Sydney with 11.6%
  • The Alan Jones Breakfast Show #1 with 13.5%. This represents Alan’s 202nd survey win.
  • Ray Hadley #1 in Mornings with 15.3%. This represents Ray’s 103rd consecutive win.
  • Chris Smith #1 in Afternoons with 11.4%.
  • Ben Fordham in Drive with 10.2%
  • Nights with Steve Price #1 with 14.5%.
  • Michael McLaren #1 in weekday Overnights with 20.0%

 
3AW #1 in Melbourne, continuing a record of achievement over the last thirteen years;

  • 3AW #1 in Melbourne with 13.8%
  • Ross Stevenson & John Burns #1 in Breakfast with 19.9%. This represents 123 consecutive wins and a career total of 194 wins as Melbourne’s #1 Breakfast show.
  • Neil Mitchell #1 in Mornings with 15.8%. This is Neil’s 172nd career win.
  • Denis Walter #1 in Afternoons with 11.8%
  • Tom Elliott #1 in Drive with 11.4%
  • Nights with Steve Price 8-10 #2 with 9.4%, Nightline 10-12 #1 with 24.8%

Brisbane News Talk station 4BC has maintained audience share with a strong performance in Nights with Steve Price and increases for both Afternoon and Brisbane Live.  
 
In Perth, News Talk 882 6PR has held its audience and grew overall Cume to 171,000 with gains across Breakfast (5.30-9am), Afternoons, (12md-4pm) Drive, (4-7pm) and Nights, (7pm-12mn) The station also recorded healthy share increases in  Drive and Weekends.
 
In this survey period, the Talking Lifestyle network has delivered an audience increase in Sydney, led by Breakfast with John Stanley and Garry Linnell from Monday to Friday 5-9am and George and Paul on weekends. The Talking Lifestyle audience has just joined the network in Melbourne and Brisbane in this survey and we look forward to growing our audience. The Talking Lifestyle network is a complement to our News Talk stations in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane and is focussed on the key lifestyle topics that matter to our listeners.

Perth has jumped back in the mosh with hit92.9 this survey, regaining our position at #1 for all people under 40 with a 22% share, and all women aged 18-39 with a 25.8% share.
 
With wads of cash given out daily with Alphabucks, Illy hitting the roof with hit92.9’s World Famous Rooftop, celebrity FIFA challenges and parody carpool karaoke, it is no surprise hit92.9 achieved the largest cume audience increase of 19,000 listeners.
 
Heidi, Will & Woody continue to bring the goods with 36,000 new people tuning in every morning and … wait for it … the largest jump they have EVER had with a 1.7% market increase!
 
Kicking goals all across the day, Tim Lee has sweet talked his way to 17,000 new listeners, the largest cume increase in Afternoons.

Macquarie Media’s Brisbane station News Talk 4BC has seen steady ratings to start 2017 with the latest survey showing encouraging results.
 

  • Steve Price at Nights:  up to 7.7%. A rise of 3.5%
  • Afternoons with Chris Smith up .4%
  • Brisbane Live with Ben Davis also up .4%

 
 
News Talk 4BC continues to show overall growth, with figures for Survey Two this year up on the same survey in 2016.
 
Brisbane Operations Manager, Mark Braybrook, said: “With Brisbane radio undergoing a number of changes, particularly in the breakfast area, News Talk 4BC is continuing to show growth over a period of time. As Ray Hadley states during his morning show, we are here for the long haul and our audience has grown in the last twelve months. 2017 looks exciting with Alan Jones back and firing at breakfast. 3AW has continued 2017 in the #1 spot as the most listened to radio station in Melbourne with an audience share of 13.8%. Number One in Breakfast, Morning, Afternoon and Drive.
 

  • 3AW Breakfast hosted by Ross Stevenson and John Burns is celebrating an amazing 123 consecutive surveys and a career total of 194 wins as Melbourne’s #1 Breakfast show. They maintained top spot with an audience share of 19.9% – over 11 ratings points ahead of their nearest commercial competitor.

 

  • Neil Mitchell maintained #1 position. He continues to drive Melbourne’s news agenda and deliver newsmakers to his audience. His share of 15.8% puts him clearly ahead all competitors.

 

  • Denis Walter is #1 with his entertaining and informative program delivered a 11.8% share.

 

  • Tom Elliott’s refreshing, engaging and opinionated talkback style was #1 in the highly-competitive Drive 3-6pm timeslot, delivering an 11.4% share.

 

  • Weekends were #2 with 11.6% share. Darren James continued to lead the way on weekend mornings with his unique delivery of information and entertainment, a clear #1 in all his timeslots.

 

  • Weekday Evenings (Steve Price 8-10 #2 with 9.4%, Nightline 10-12 #1 with 24.8%)

‘News Talk’ station 2GB grows audience to remain Sydney’s favourite radio station and Talking Lifestyle  954 achieves audience growth.
 
According to today’s GfK Survey 2, 2017 results, 2GB grew audience share to 11.6% of all people 10+ and is the clear industry leader in Sydney.
 
2GB #1 in Sydney, recording its 103rd consecutive survey victory;

  • 2GB #1 in Sydney with 11.6%
  • The Alan Jones Breakfast Show #1 with 13.5%. This represents Alan’s 202nd survey win.
  • Ray Hadley #1 in Mornings with 15.3%. This represents Ray’s 103rd consecutive win.
  • Chris Smith #1 in Afternoons with 11.4%.
  • Ben Fordham in Drive with 10.2%

In this survey period, Talking Lifestyle 954 in Sydney has delivered an audience increase to 4.6%. This result was led by programs at Breakfast across the whole week and delivered increases across the board. John and Garry grew audience to a 5.2% share while the weekend combination of George and Paul were #1 in Sydney, recording a dominant 12.6% share across Saturday and Sunday mornings.
