So I quit my day job, a new podcast from Cathrine Mahoney

Cathrine Mahoney has released the first in a series of new podcasts in collaboration with www.whimn.com.au.

A publicist for the past 20 years, most recently for Nova’s Fitzy & Wippa, Cathrine quit her job to become a full time writer, and hence her new podcast, So I Quit My Day Job.

Each episode will be part personal journey update, and part interview.

From overcoming doubt, to coping with rejection, avoiding the fridge, and adapting to life without an IT helpdesk, Cathrine will aim to cover it all openly and honestly, in her self-deprecating style.

Joining her every week will be guests who share their success stories, from Tash Sefton, Jason Dundas, 3 Birds Renovations and Samantha X to others who have made incredible career pivots. From flight attendant to funeral home, hairdresser to crime scene cleaner and glossy magazine highflyer to baby whisperer.

Cathrine says “I have loved my job as a publicist, but I always wanted to be a writer, to tell stories and make people laugh. After banging on for years about wanting to write a book I finally made the leap and quit my day job.

“For me, the podcast brings together two of my greatest loves; Michael ‘Parky’ Parkinson and detective shows. I have channelled my inner sleuth (think Sherlock Holmes without the pipe or a younger Miss Marple) and tracked down some incredible guests, and every week I get my ‘Parky’ on as I interview them.”
