Simon Baggs launches the Audio College

Hot Tomato’s Simon Baggs can remember his first shift on community radio, vividly, and it did not go exactly to plan.

He says, “After opening the show by saying hello and mentioning the great weather we’d been having, I was feeling confident, but that confidence soon evaporated as I announced the first song I’d be playing.

“You’d think I’d remember which song I’d put in the CD player but having misplaced the CD case I suddenly went into extreme panic mode. It’s a wonder you couldn’t hear my heart thumping. I’d planned to explain why I loved the song but that would be difficult to do when I’d forgotten what the song was. In the end I had no other choice but to simply hit play.”

Now with 20 years’ experience in commercial radio and as host of number one shows in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast, Simon has launched his new course in radio and podcasting at The Audio College.

Simon is known for generating some of the most creative content and ambitious campaigns on Australian radio like his Bring Ellen Down Under campaign that went viral and eventually took him all the way to LA to appear live on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

More recently, his runway gig on Facebook saw Queensland band, Sheppard, perform live at the Gold Coast Airport during the pandemic.

Simon is determined to find, educate and mentor top radio and podcast talent with The Audio College, teaching his students the personal techniques he’s used to develop his own successful career in a modern, effective and practical course that will result in the production of professional-standard podcasts and radio shows by the end of the five-week course.

The five-week course, beginning November 21st 2020, will provide

  • A roadmap to achieving goals for personal and professional success
  • Direct access to Simon Baggs to help put the strategies, ideas and tools to work and get your Podcast or Radio show in-front of the right ears
  • Connections, support and build relationships with like-minded people in an exclusive Facebook group
  • Access to the official Audio College E-Book, Live classes to gain the skills and knowledge needed to create a cult following
