Short Story Competition

The winner of community station, 2SER’s Final Draft Short Story Competition is due to be announced today.

The contest was open to any budding writer with a tale to tell, who was encouraged to get cracking on a fabulously fictitious account on any subject in 1000 words or less and get it in!

The winning entry will earn the author a one Year Membership to the NSW Writers’ Centre, plus a $200 Voucher from Ariel Booksellers. The author can also read their story ‘live’ on 2SER’s ‘Final Draft’ (9am, Tuesdays). The runner up will receive 10 new books.

Final Draft, which has been going for 10 years, is a weekly program on books, writing and publishing, with reviews and interviews with writers, publishers, designers, translators and editors. It promotes the work of Australian authors, particularly young up and comers, and also provides valuable information to new writers about how to go about getting work published.

2SER FM 107.3 boasts a weekly audience of more than 250 000 and its signal reaches the Blue Mountains, Gosford and Wollongong. It also streams live via the web (www.2ser.com).
