SEN SA is on the way

Sport-obsessed South Australians will soon have a new home of sport when 1629 SEN SA launches later this year, headlined by some of the biggest names in sport.

SEN SA will provide 24/7 dedicated sport radio content delivered by a formidable line-up including rising media star and Port Adelaide’s games record-holder Kane Cornes, acclaimed Australian sports broadcaster Gerard Whateley and The Front Bar’s Andy Maher.

With over five hours of local daily content, the new station will bring together local and national sporting identities kicking off on 6th December with the first Test match of the season at Adelaide Oval.

SEN SA has exclusive South Australian coverage of the iconic Adelaide test match between India and Australia and will broadcast all the ball-by-ball action of all 59 Big Bash matches this summer.

SEN’s Chief Sports Caller, Gerard Whateley will lead the station’s cricket coverage, in addition to his regular morning radio show ‘Whateley’, says “South Australia has such a rich sporting heritage along with an active and major stake in all the national stories, issues and events. To begin with the broadcast of Test cricket through the summer is perfect.”

Kane Cornes who will host SEN SA’s local breakfast show was equally excited and says “I’m incredibly excited about hosting breakfast on SEN SA. South Australians are so passionate about their sport and it will be a privilege to start the conversation each morning.”

A co-host for Cornes will be announced in the coming weeks.

Already 10 percent of SEN Melbourne’s online audience hails from South Australia highlighting the appetite of local listeners for their daily sports fix.

Pacific Star Network CEO Craig Hutchison said SEN SA would deliver round the clock content for sports-hungry fans.
“South Australia is a parochial state and 1629 SEN SA will deliver thousands of hours of local content each year across all sports. That’s content made in Adelaide for South Australians.”

Around 40,000 South Australians are already listen remotely to 1116 SEN, so a 24-7 sports talk station for SA was the natural extension.

SEN SA will broadcast on the 1629 AM frequency following the acquisition of the radio licence.
