SEN add Harris, Bollinger and Chopra to their cricket XI

Ryan Harris, Doug Bollinger and Aakash Chopra will join the SEN 2018/19 cricket commentary team.

Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager for 1116 SEN, Sam Bingley, says attracting great cricketers and great media analysts to the commentary team was a coup for the station.

“We are thrilled to have Ryan Harris join the SEN XI as a cricketer that has played extensively at domestic level in Australia, for Australia and in the Indian Premier League and that represents a wealth of experience,”

Harris, a former Australian, South Australian and Queensland pace boasts an impressive playing record.

In 27 Test matches and 21 one-day international appearances, Harris took 113 and 44 wickets respectively and claimed five wickets in a Test innings on five occasions, four
against old-foe England.

In 2013, Harris claimed a career best 7/117 against England.
 
Known more for his exploits with the ball, Harris was equally adept with the bat, scoring 603 runs, with a top score of 74.

Bollinger played for New South Wales and Australia, had stints with country cricket sides Worcestershire and Kent, the Chennai Super Kingsin in the Indian Premier League  and for the Hobart Hurricanes, Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.

In 12 Test matches and 39 one-day international encounters for Australia, his best figures were 5 for 28 in the longer form.

Bingley says “Doug endeared himself to cricket fans around the country in the spirit in which he played the game and we are looking forward to him doing the same in the commentary box with his unique perspective on cricket.”

Former Indian opener, Aaakash Chopra, will also join the 1116 SEN team with the reputation as one of the world’s best cricket analysts.
Chopra played 162 first-class matches during his career that included included 22 centuries en-route to amassing over 8000 runs, including a triple-ton (301) as his highest score.

Bingley says “Aakash is rightfully known around the world as the voice of Indian cricket – so to have him join the team in Australia, with his expert, well-balanced analysis is a great privilege for 1116 SEN,” 

SEN are yet to unveil the remaining two places in their XI
