SEA FM is pounding the pavement for kids

91.9 SEA FMs local radio stars BarRat, Heidi, Elly and Becks will walk from Caloundra to Mudjimba, broadcasting live to raise enough money for 1,000 pairs of children’s shoes as part of 91.9 Sea FM’s K’s For Kids.

After decades supporting kids on the Sunny Coast, Inclusive Kids have learned something as simple as a pair of shoes can keep a struggling kid in school and sport programs, off the street and away from drugs, trafficking and other real world dangers.

Tony Pignata, IFYS Inclusive Kids, says “Over 45,000 people live in poverty on the Sunshine Coast and of these people over 10,000 are between 1-15 years of age. This means children and young people around us are going to school hungry, getting bullied for wearing an old uniform, or missing out on activities that create inclusion in community life. We know that these kids have to work extra hard to stay happy, motivated and focused on the future”.

Already the walk has gained the attention of local businesses with every hour sponsored by a range of businesses across the Sunshine Coast keen to support Inclusive Kids and our local underprivileged children.

BarRat & Heidi and Elly & Becks will be joined by Inspector Jason Overland, Inclusive Kids Patron, along with Inclusive Kids representatives, local celebrities and community leaders.

91.9 SEA FM’s Content Director Luke Toohey says, “As a live and local radio station we take our responsibility to make a positive difference in our community very seriously. Whether it’s supporting local artists, giving people a break from a tough 2020 or in this case pounding the pavement to support young Coasties on the poverty line, SEA FM has been and will continue to be there for the Sunny Coast”.
