SCA Network increases average daily unique browsers

Southern Cross Austereo has released its latest online usage figures.

The June stats show the SCA Network has increased its Australian average daily unique browsers by 112% year on year, up to 221,501 browsers per day.

SCA says the driving forces for the continually increasing numbers are: shows, social connections, sport, celebrity and mobile browsers.

The Today network had 143,368 average daily unique browsers and Triple M’s number was 73,212.

SCA’s monthly report (below) shows a comparative monthly graph of commercial radio networks’ online engagement.

It does not combine its own Mix station in Perth with its other network stats in this graph, because Mix has different branding from the Today and Triple M networks. Nor does this graph combine Fairfax Media talk stations together.

The SCA presentation also lists the top 30 Australian digital publishers (excluding the ABC), showing News Limited on top, followed by NineMSN then Fairfax Media, owner of the Fairfax Radio Network.

SCA has moved up to position 15 in the chart this month, its highest position since its entry into online ratings. ARN is at position 25, with its parent company APN, placed at position 20.

Southern Cross Austereo Director of Digital and Innovation Clive Dickens said: “As we mark the close of the financial year with incredible growth, the SCA digital team are looking forward to a complete re-imagination of our content, products and digital services. You haven’t seen anything yet, and I believe the word you’re looking for is ‘boom’.”    Key highlights from his presentation include:

  • The Today Network and the Triple M Network are the #1 and #2 online radio brands in Australia, ranked by average daily unique browsers.
  • The Today Network and the Triple M Network are the #1 and #2 Australian online mobile multi-category entertainment brands.
  • SCA is the 7th biggest daily ‘tagged’ digital publisher on mobile in Australia, up from 13th last year.
