SCA #1 Radio Provider in Regional Australia

Southern Cross Austereo has boasted a regional cumulative audience of over 1.49 million across Australia and an average reach of 54%, across the regional radio markets surveyed this year.

This dominance of the regional radio market is only set to grow with a further 6 markets to be surveyed in 2017 and SCA’s regional radio rebrand now in place.

22 SCA owned stations achieved #1 commercial status from a possible 24 regional radio surveys conducted by Xtra Insights, and on 18 occasions, from a possible 21, the SCA duopoly took out the #1 and #2 commercial rankings.

SCA’s Head of Regional Content Mickey Maher said, “It’s fantastic to have this data which shows we are leaps ahead of our competitors in the majority of our regional markets. To have a combined regional cume of over 1.49 million is something to be very proud of.”

“Following the roll out of our regional rebrand last week our regional stations are only expected to strengthen against our competitors.”

To compliment the growing availability of regional radio surveys, SCA has elected to roll out a web based regional radio software solution called Frequency.

Approved by the MFA and developed by Walk Creative, the software will be available to agency media buyers at no charge and will allow them to view and analyse the surveys on behalf of their clients.

SCA’s Chief Sales Officer Brian Gallagher said, “We want to ensure that clients are able to easily identify the vast opportunities available to them in regional markets via our national network of Hit and Triple M stations.

“The radio rebrand coupled with the new survey data and this new software will make the process must easier for our media buyers. And of course, SCA teams will be driving awareness and access to the markets.”
