SBS Arabic24 has a new line-up

SBS Arabic24 will have a fresh program line up starting Monday 22 July 2019, offering more news, entertainment and music for Australia’s growing Arabic speaking communities.

The refreshed radio schedule introduces a new breakfast show duo, Stephanie Andary and Fares Hassan, while host Nabil Nashar will present a new morning show ‘Bayt Al Mazzika’ focused on music and entertainment.

The drive time show will be co-hosted from Sydney and Melbourne with Melbourne presenters Iman Riman and Hana Yassin joining Ghassan Nakhoul, based in Sydney.

Delivering more Australian news in Arabic, seasoned journalists Hachem El Haddad and Saleem Al Fahad will provide hourly news across the day from 6am to 6pm.

Since its launch in 2016, SBS Arabic24 has become Australia’s leading Arabic language radio station, with 24 per cent share of the weekly Arabic speaking radio market in the largest metro cities*, and significant growth in online audiences.

SBS Director of Audio and Language Content, Mandi Wicks, says “SBS is committed to meeting the changing needs of communities and ongoing consultation provides us with valuable insights to inform our services. Following conversations with our Arabic speaking audiences, we’ve updated the radio service, to include more entertainment and to introduce for the first time, an hourly news bulletin across weekdays, which will be focused on delivering Australian news in Arabic.

“The morning program with Nabil Nashar will involve audiences, giving them the opportunity to request their favourite songs. Additionally, the SBS Arabic24 team will continue to deliver stories daily to audiences who are increasingly consuming our stories via the SBS Radio app and online platforms.”
