Ryan “Ryno” Khay is moving on

EON Broadcasting has announced Ryan ‘Ryno’ Khay is moving to a new role and has accepted an appointment in Papua New Guinea.

After more than 4 years as the Content Director for EON Broadcasting on the Sunshine Coast, Ryno has accepted the role of Operations Manager & Program Director in commercial radio for RAIT 99.5 in Port Moresby.

Ryno lived in PNG for four years as a child with his family, and is looking forward to investing more time into his other passions of music production and song writing.

“CHM Supersound group have the biggest recording studios in the country, along with a video production team, record label and production equipment, so I’ll be in my element. I’m looking forward to working in those areas too, not just radio, I’ll definitely be keeping myself busy!”

This will be the second time the Sunshine Coast has lost Ryno, who used to be the afternoon announcer on 92.7 MIX FM, before leaving to take up the role of Content Director for Sea FM & Hot FM in Cairns, and eventually returning in 2011 as the Content Director for both 919 Sea FM and 92.7 MIX FM.

Station manager John Williams said Ryno achieved many great things for EON Broadcasting, “not the least of having the No 1 & No 2 stations here on the Sunshine Coast & then of course being part of the team that’s just gained 13 ACRA finalists. He will be missed, but we are happy to celebrate his success and wish future success”.

Ryno will finish-up with EON Broadcasting at the Caloundra Music Festival in early October and given the high profile and recent success of both stations, along with an enviable location – no doubt the vacant role will attract a large number of very interesting applicants.
