Robbie Buck and Wendy Harmer to co-host ABC Sydney Breakfast

Cassie McCullagh to present new mornings program in 2018.

Sydney will wake up to the new sound of two very familiar ABC Radio Sydney broadcasters with Robbie Buck and Wendy Harmer teaming up to co-host Breakfast on weekdays in 2018.

Robbie and Wendy will present an extended show in a new shared timeslot from 6.00am to 10.00am (with a 30-minute break for AM, hosted by Sabra Lane at 8.00am). The program will showcase the best of both presenters, and include the latest news, local stories, current affairs, analysis, engaging discussions, and sport, with regular traffic and weather updates.

ABC Local Manager in Sydney Cath Dwyer said, “I’m thrilled to announce this formidable double-header to present our new Breakfast program in 2018.

“With their combined sharp wits, chemistry, and experience, Wendy and Robbie will bring their trusted voices and energy to early mornings.

“Our audiences can expect to hear the best of both of these dynamic broadcasters in this new program, which will provide Sydney-siders with everything they need to know to start their days”.

ABC presenter Cassie McCullagh will host a new mornings program called Focus Sydney, weekdays from 10.00-11.00am, commencing 22 January, 2018. Cassie will be familiar to ABC Radio audiences, most recently presenting RN’s flagship social affairs program Life Matters, as well as filling in for Philip Clark and Sarah Macdonald on Nightlife, and for Simon Marnie on Weekend Mornings.

Focus Sydney will cover a wide range of topical local issues drawing on the knowledge and expertise of ABC’s specialist reporters as well as industry experts.

I love ABC Radio Sydney and I’m delighted to be joining the gang. The listeners are the best brains trust you could ask for. It’ll be a thrill to be part of the great, ongoing conversation that is such an intrinsic part of Sydney,” Cassie said.

Myf Warhurst also returns to ABC local Radio airwaves with a new program showcasing Australian music, regional artists and music festivals. The mixture of music, culture and talk will be broadcast on ABC Radio Sydney from 12.30pm to 2.00pm, and will have a contemporary and conversational feel.

Afternoons with James Valentine and Drive with Richard Glover will shift later into the day with Afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm and Drive from 4.00pm to 6.30pm, allowing a greater ability for the station to provide audiences with local updates, traffic and news during key commute times.
