Grant Broadcasters has bought River 949 from Fairfax Media. The acquisition is being announced to staff this morning by the new owners.

Janet Cameron’s company has told radioinfo they “are particularly pleased to welcome the staff of River 949 to the group.”

River 949 is located in the fast growing area of Ipswich and marks Grant Broadcasters first entry into Queensland. The company has stations in all other states of Australia.

The sale has been completed today, 28th May, with Grant Broadcasters assuming control immediately. The company says it is “looking forward to continuing and enhancing River 949’s relationship with the Ipswich community.”
