Risk taking Gold Coaster drives away in style after car crash

Sea FM’s Kia Car Drop left the Gold Coast in baited breath as one lucky local walked away with a brand new ride at the Stunt Academy in Nerang.

It was a game of risk for the 80 contestants over the past four weeks on Sea FM’s Breakfast show with Galey, Matt & Charli as they put their car on the line for the chance to walk away with a new Kia Rio.

Sea FM’s breakfast host Charli Robinson said the whole day came down to just two buttons.

“Both cars were lifted 50m in the air. One button would release the contestant’s car, whilst the other would see the Kia Rio plummet to the ground.

“Our finalist Justine chose the button that released the Kia Rio that crashed to the ground, but there was a twist. We gave her a brand new Kia Rio anyway, because if you’re risky enough to put your car on the line, then you definitely deserve one.

“It was an amazing crash to watch, Justine was convinced her dreams of a new ride were coming crashing to the ground.”

The winner on the day, Justine Campbell, said that the new car was very needed, with her current car having seen better days.

“I recently had to change my rego and was surprised it passed to get a safety certificate!”

Sea FM has donated all car parts to the Gold Coast TAFE who are planning to use it as a training tool for their mechanical department.
