Rhys Holleran’s last day

In an email sent to colleagues this week Rhys Holleran has revealed that Friday, 29th May will be his last day as CEO of Southern Cross Austrereo.

The departure comes sooner than expected, with Executive Chairman Peter Bush announcing in a press release earlier this month that Mr Holleran would continue with the company until the end of July.

Mr Holleran has worked in the media for 27 years. He has undertaken a variety of management roles including General Manager of 101.1 TTFM and Gold 104 (1992 to 1997) and Managing Director of RG Capital Radio (1997 to 2004). Rhys was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Southern Cross Media Group in 2009 and went on to oversee the merger between Austereo Group Limited and Southern Cross in 2011.

Despite recent speculation, SCA hasn’t confirmed a new CEO, with Mr Bush acknowledging that “replacing Rhys will not be easy and is likely to take some time.”
