Retail relies on radio to attract shoppers

Despite the slump in sales revenues for bricks an mortar retail stores, they dominate the top ten list of advertisers on radio. According to latest airplay data from AirCheck, half of the top ten spots went to retailers, with Harvey Norman and Domayne taking out the top two. Two places went to federal government campaigns. Two went to the television sector, with the last position taken by the Radio Industry’s Digital Plus campaign. See chart.

The AirCheck chart is based on commercial airplay data from radio and television stations in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide, Perth, Central Coast, Newcastle & Geelong.
