774 ABC Melbourne has announced that Red Symons will be back in the
breakfast chair in 2003.

Station Manager Ian Mannix said he is “delighted that Red will be
returning to ABC Radio next year.”

“Red raised a few eyebrows and created a lot of excitement when he came to
774 mid year and since then he’s built a loyal following with our
listeners. The station has performed extremely well in 2002 which was a real vote of
confidence from our audience. I know his return will please his many
listeners,” said Mannix.

Lynne Haultain who has been on maternity leave this year will also return next year and is considering a number of on-air shifts at 774.

“Having Red and Lynne as part of our on-air team in 2003 is a fantastic
position to be in. We have a very dynamic line-up next year and we’re
looking forward to another strong performance”, said Mannix.

Symons and Haultain will begin broadcasting on Monday 27 January 2003 with the rest of the station’s returning lineup.
