Rebel FM wraps up another successful Moustache Ride

This year, Rebel FM had 150 motorcycles from Logan, Scenic Rim, and the Gold Coast support its annual Rebel FM Moustache Ride on 22nd November.

The charity ride aims to raise awareness of men’s physical and mental health.

Rebel FM presenter Ashley Palmero, says the Moustache Ride has been a seven year commitment.

“Over the past 7 years, the ride has gotten bigger and better, with the event expanding with more riders and greater marketing,” he said.

“It’s an impressive spectacle. It’s a 1.5 to 2 kilometre trail of motorcycles, with a total value of three million dollars’ worth of machinery to help raise funds for various causes”.

He says there is also a large amount of preparation going into each year’s event, “There’s a 12-month lead in to sort out the route for the riders and to execute the ride with safety. The Scenic Rim was the ideal choice as part of the journey because it allowed the riders to go through terrain they’ve never seen before.”

“You learn a lot from others on the ride,” he said. “One rider talked about how his father passed away from prostate cancer. The fact that he talked about his loss is a prime example of the power of communication with these events”.
