Ratings return at last for 2DayFM

As of survey one of 2019, 2DayFM’s cumulative audience edged close to 866,000, marking the first time the station has reached 800,000 since Sandilands and Henderson left more than five years ago. This time last year, that number was 698,000. Breakfast cumulative audience is also the highest it has been since the defection at 371,000, and drive time has had one of its highest results.

Fordham, who had previously worked with Sandilands and Henderson in breakfast and was an executive producer for Wendy Harmer, returned to the Hit Network with a tough task: rebuilding the station. The rebuild was personal for Fordham, who had a “strong affection” for the station she had listened to as a child and which had given her first radio gig.
From a share perspective, 2DayFM breakfast fell 0.2 points to 4.4 per cent but the station climbed 0.5 points to a 5.9 per cent share, putting it 0.6 points behind Nova 96.9 and less than two behind KIIS 106.5.
