Rather be reading the news than leading the news: Rowan Barker

Rowan Barker spoke to 2GB’s Alan Jones on his first day back at work this week, telling Jones he would rather read the news than lead it. Listen to the audio of the conversation below.

Barker believes he was in “the wrong place at the wrong time,” and spoke to Jones about the difficulty of recovering from the shock of his stabbing.

“The shock was the hardest to get over, the wounds were relatively painless.”

He had open heart surgery after the attack, which saw him receive a knife wound near the heart. “I’m still a bit tender in parts,” Barker joked with Jones.

On air Barker thanked the 2GB listeners and the station for rallying round in his time of need.
