Radio Australia assists pacific broadcasters with training

Throughout 2003 Radio Australia has supported media training and
development initiatives in the Asia-Pacific.

The network hosted a training program for a group of visiting television journalists from Indonesia, and had several staff exchanges with PNG National Broadcasting Corporation and Fiji Broadcasting
Corporation.

In 2004, a new staff exchange program will see senior broadcasters
from Radio Australia and China Radio International trade places for 12 months.

In the region, the network’s Pacific Correspondent, Sean Dorney, presented a
United Nations-sponsored seminar on governance issues in the Solomons and
conducted training courses for journalists in the Marshall Islands.
