Radio Apprentices face off in John Laws’ contest

John Laws has embarked on a second phase of last year’s Radio Idol competition, as part of a reality tv show he’s calling ‘Radio Apprentice’.

Laws unveiled the project when he interviewed the two contestants, Mark Hollman and Michael Pfeiffer on Monday at the beginning of their ordeal.

Hollman, from Bourke, and Pfeiffer from Warrnambool, have been brought to Sydney to play off against each other in a series of live talk radio simulations. Both have been undergoing training courses with the Australian Film Television and Radio School in preparation for their contest.

The two are being followed by film crews and are being produced by AFTRS full time radio students in the studios of AFTRS North Ryde.

The 30 minute reality tv program has been commissioned by AFTRS and Southern Cross Broadcasting, to be screened on Regional TEN network when it is finished.

The contestants will be on air between noon and 5pm this week via the AFTRS’ website (click below).
