Rabbits returns to the Warren

We all had to start somewhere and for ace sports commentator, Ray “Rabbits” Warren, it was 2LF in Young. In fact, that’s where Ray will be on the 26th of January as an official Australia Day Ambassador.

Born and raised in nearby Junee (it’s only 102 kilometres up the road) ,  Ray landed his first radio job with 2LF almost 40 years ago but by 1974 had moved to television as the chief caller for a Rugby League mid-week competition called the AMCO cup. Both that comp and AMCO Jeans are now defunct, but Ray’s love for radio remains undiminished. You’ll hear him each week on Triple M’s Dead Set Legends as well as giving NRL tips on Newcastle’s NXFM.

At a special Australia Day dinner, Ray will speak about his career highlights on TV as well as about his humble beginnings calling footy games in Barmedman and Junee.

Ray’s sister and brother-in-law still live in Young.
