Queensland Premier’s regular 4BC spot

Queensland Premier Peter Beattie is joining Brisbane’s 4BC as a regular on John Miller and Ross Davie’s breakfast program.

Beattie will be heard every Friday for 30 minutes, with his first appearance being this Friday, January 24, 2003.

The weekly segment will feature “a lively chat about the biggest issues and calls from Brisbane people, who will have personal access to the Queensland leader.” It is the Premier’s only regular in-studio radio appearance.

“I have always tried to be open, accountable and available to listen to the views of all Queenslanders,” said Beattie. “I thank 4BC for giving me a regular opportunity to take questions from listeners. Whenever my schedule allows it, I’ll be at 4BC on Friday mornings at 7.30.”

4BC General Manager David McDonald told radioinfo he is thrilled Peter Beattie will be in the studios of Talk 1116 Brisbane’s 4BC weekly: “We demonstrate the power of talk radio every day, and the Premier’s commitment to join John and Ross on Friday mornings is a significant indicator of how we reach Brisbane… I look forward to the segment breaking news and setting the agenda. It’s also going to be a great opportunity for our listeners to reach Mr Beattie to discuss issues that matter to them.”

In early February, some overseas trips will mean Beattie will be on the phone rather than in the studio.
