Pulse too high on ads

A community broadcaster in Victoria was recently investigated over possible breaches of the number of advertisements it played on air. The ABA found that it had breached the act and will now monitor the station for further breaches.

The ABA’s Donald Robertson explained to radioinfo: “Pulse is a community broadcaster and the investigation was in relation to the alleged broadcast of advertisements on a program called Radio Real Estate. The ABA found a breach of paragraph 9(1)(b) of Schedule 2 to the Broadcasting Services Act [broadcasting a number of advertisements].The licensee has said it will re-vamp the program to ensure it does not inadvertently amount to broadcasting an advertisement. The ABA decided to take no further action, but will monitor the program..”
