Paul Jackson joins DMG

Paul Jackson has been named as the replacement for Dean Buchanan in the position of Group Programme Director for DMG Radio Australia.

Jackson joins DMG from the UK’s largest radio group, Global Radio, where he has held the position of Group Programme Director for 95.8 Capital FM, The Hit Music Network and The XFM Network since 2008.

During his time with Global Radio Jackson has overseen the success of 95.8 Capital FM and the growth of the Johnny and Lisa Breakfast Show, taking it to the No 1 FM position in London, a position it has maintained for the past two years in the UK’s most competitive radio market.

Prior to joining Capital, Jackson was Group Programme Director, and for a time, Chief Executive of national pop and rock station, Virgin Radio. During his time at Virgin Radio he was responsible for steering one of the UK’s iconic radio brands, both on air and online.

dmg Radio CEO Cathy O’Connor is thrilled to announce Paul Jackson’s appointment:

“A winning vision for the future programming direction of dmg Radio Australia’s brands all starts with strong leadership. Paul Jackson is a high calibre executive who brings both significant experience and strong creativity to this important role.

“It’s exciting to bring a fresh set of eyes and ears to the programming table at dmg. Paul inherits a team of exceptional programmers and presenters who are ready for his strong leadership and who are as passionate about creativity and success as he is.”

Jackson is now preparing to move to Australia and will take up his new appointment in November 2010. In the interim, the company’s Assistant Group Programme Director, Dan Bradley, will take on the role of Acting Group Programme Director responsible for the day to day running of programming. Nova 100 Programme Director, Todd Campbell, will also take on additional responsibilities as Nova Group Programme Manager.
