Partnership to develop apps for instream audio advertising

All in Media, a leading developer of broadcast systems and mobile apps, and AdsWizz, a provider of on-line audio and video advertising solutions have announced a partnership to develop InStream advertising for radio stations.

InStream advertising has been a significant theme at this week’s Australian Broadcasting Summit, with broadcasters being urged to collect information about their online users and then serve them up targeted advertising.

The partnership will further develop the integration between the companies’ product lines, “providing an end-to-end solution for radio stations looking to roll out InStream advertising.”

Both companies are “committed to the future development of monetising personalised, targeted audio and visual advertising.

InStream advertising allows advertisers to more effectively target listeners by replacing existing generic ads in audio streams with personalised audio and visual adverts, increasing both the value and size of the radio station inventory.

All In Media’s Chief Technology Officer Jason Malaure has told radioinfo:

“We are very excited about our partnership with AdsWizz, which will allow us to offer customers a shrink-wrapped solution for targeted InStream ad replacement. Targeted audio advertising is going to be the next big thing for radio stations, increasing advertising opportunities and increasing revenues.

“In all areas of the media we are seeing the need to personalise and target the radio listening experience. All in Media and AdsWizz is a natural fit and we look forward to deepening our relationship with this innovative company.”

Patrick Roger, VP Sales & Marketing for AdsWizz said: “Having already worked with All In Media for Absolute Radio we know they can build great apps, and we also know they have an excellent understanding of what radio stations need from their smartphone and tablet apps.”

Absolute Radio’s Clive Dickens spoke about the success of his company’s personalised ad content at the Broadcasting Summit, telling delegates: “Targeted instream advertising is needed to make a return for our investors and advertisers… We don’t have to estimate who and where our listeners are through a ratings company any more… we know it!”

Given the recent PPCA ruling, which will force radio stations to pay more for their online streams, stations will be looking hard at any new tools that can further monetise their audio streams.
