Nova’s Susie O’Neill releases Valentine’s Day single

Initially created as a joke, the song will be released on iTunes after listener demand.

Australian Olympic swimming champion Susie O’Neill has just released her first single, after jokingly creating a Valentine’s Day song for her husband Cliff on Nova 106.9 yesterday morning.

With the help of Nova creative writer Ben Davies and audio producer Josh Burton, Susie produced “My Heart Went Boom” airing it on Nova’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy with Susie O’Neill show.

Nova listeners soon hit the phone lines wanting to know how they could get a copy, and the Nova team is now working on getting the single onto iTunes.

Susie was inspired to record the single after the team chatted to The Real Housewives of Melbourne star Gamble Breaux who released her first single “This Time” for her husband Rick Wolfe for their anniversary.

As one of Australia’s most successful swimmers, O’Neill has won 8 Olympic medals and holds 35 Australian titles, commencing her career in radio in 2013.
