Nova’s Red Room goes Global

After 70 intimate Red Room events featuring some of the world’s biggest stars, Nova Entertainment has decided that it’s time to look beyond Australia and to take on the world!

So from next month the Red Room will embark on a global tour taking jocks and listeners (and maybe even a radio scribe) to some of the hottest hotspots on the planet.

In partnership with Optus, Qantas, Marquee Nightclubs, Sony Music Australia and Starcom, Nova Entertainment promises to provide the ultimate experiential marketing campaign. In this age where the consumer is also the advertiser, prize winning listeners will be capturing and sharing content from their global music adventure as they go.

Tony Thomas, NOVA Entertainment’s Group Marketing Director said, “We are very proud of the success of Nova’s Red Room and after 70 events featuring some of the world’s biggest artists, it was only natural to take Nova’s Red Room across the globe. Nothing of this scale has ever been attempted and we are very lucky to have such strong partners like Optus, Qantas, Marquee Nightclubs and Sony Music Australia to help us achieve it.”

The tour will launch with a Nova’s Red Room at Marquee at The Star Sydney, headlined by top Australian group Justice Crew joined by Dami Im and Bonnie Anderson. Talented singer/songwriter Samantha Jade will be the connection between Australia and the global experience with the first ever performance in Qantas’ new Los Angeles Business Lounge.

Listeners will then attend intimate Nova’s Red Room gigs at Marquee Nightclub venues in New York with one of the best-selling artists in history Usher, and at Marquee inside The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas with the hottest new group G.R.L, who have the platinum selling smash hit Ugly Heart.

“Optus wants Australians to ‘Live More Yes!’ and thanks to our partnership with Nova’s Red Room, this global tour delivers that. Our customers love awesome experiences and this series of gigs in some of the hottest spots on the planet will absolutely rock winners to their core,” said Nathan Rosenberg, Head of Brand, Optus. “Optus is committed to creating great moments for our customers and we’ve got a lot more in store for Australia so watch this space.”

Night show host, Kent ‘Smallzy’ Small, will board a Qantas flight with 26 competition winners, partners, media and a team of Nova’s content producers, to experience four Nova’s Red Rooms featuring six artists, across four international cities all in only seven days.

With unique access to the artists, Smallzy will broadcast Smallzy’s Surgery from 7pm weeknights during the global tour, sharing highlights from Nova’s Red Room performances and artist interviews with his listeners.

Olivia Wirth, Qantas Group Executive Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs said, “We are thrilled to partner with Nova and host the first global performance in our new Los Angeles Business Lounge. This partnership provides us with the opportunity to showcase the premium Qantas experience to a younger audience.”

Denis Handlin AM, Chairman & CEO Australia & New Zealand and President Asia Sony Music Entertainment said, “We’re incredibly thrilled to work with campaign partners and Nova on taking their Red Room global, with artists Usher, G.R.L, Samantha Jade, Justice Crew, Dami Im and Bonnie Anderson performing as part of this fantastic initiative.”

Annick Perrin, Managing Director Starcom said, “We believe human experiences matter most and when Nova shows us this opportunity we recognised that this partnership offers Optus’ existing and potential customers an outstanding music experience and content which ultimately delivers deeper brand love, you can’t get better than that.”

NOVA Entertainment will capture the entire Nova’s Red Room Global Tour together with Optus, creating unique on-air and on-line content for novafm.com.au.
