Nova 106.9 finishes the year on a high… from Story Bridge

Nova 106.9 breakfast team, Ash, Kip & Luttsy with Susie O’Neill, ended the year on a high by broadcasting live from the top of the Story Bridge for their last show of 2018.

The Nova team trekked up to the top of the bridge at sunrise with all the equipment necessary to broadcast their show from Brisbane’s most iconic landmark.

Broadcasting from the top came with its challenges, specifically the lack of bathroom facilities made some of the team nervous, with listeners warned that if any of Nova team went off air…..it wouldn’t have been because of a technical fault!

But the Nova crew remained in control and there was no mad dashes back to the ground required.

Ash, Kip, Luttsy and Susie convinced others to join them on what they dubbed “The Climb” including Queensland band, Busby Marou, who trekked to the top – with two guitars – to play Miley Cyrus’ iconic song live.

This was the first time a band has performed live on the top of the Story Bridge -and probably the last for Busby Marou as one of the band members discovered on top that he has a fear of heights – but impressively kept playing through his panic.
Twelve listeners also won the chance to join the breakfast team on the bridge before a lucky draw which saw Denise from Wynnum win a Fiji family holiday for four worth $4,600 thanks to Flight Centre.

Nova’s Ash, Kip & Luttsy with Susie O’Neill will be back on the airwaves in January 2019.
