Newest Nautel transmitter on display at #SMPTE15

Ace Radio is the most recent Australian radio company to buy a Nautel transmitter.

The GV Series transmitter, just imported from America, was on display at the SMPTE 2015 Exhibition and, when the exhibitiion is finished, will make its way to Ace Radio for use in one of the network’s Victorian stations.

Nautel makes AM, FM and Digital (DRM/HD Radio) transmitters and supplies its products to over 177 countries.

Features of the GV series of transmitters include an interactive front control panel (pictured below), built-in Optimod processing, real time monitoring instrumentation and remote access, rack expansion capacity and a more efficient power module.

A key element of the GV’s architecture is the power module. “The GV power module integrates the cooling systems, combiners and amplifiers into a compact vertically oriented module that is easy to handle and service. The power module provides a single RF input, a single RF output, and allows for optimal cooling and vertical air flow. The module is common among all GV family members for simple spares planning.”

The GV Series uses the most advanced FM exciter available today and has the ability to correct for group delay in a multi-station combiner system. Direct-to-channel digital modulation at more than 600 MSPS eliminates microphonics and spurious outputs. Other key features include:

• Next-generation adaptive pre-correction
• Combiner equalization
• Spectrum analysis
• Redundant digital and analog audio inputs
• 100% digital setup: no potentiometers
• Flexible RDS/RBDS encoder and SCA encoders
