Newcastle comes together for the kids

KOFM raised $56,729.67  in this year’s Give Me Five For Kids 2016 charity drive.

The amount raised will go towards the John Hunter Children’s Hospital where it will be used to purchase much needed air/oxygen blenders for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

We thank our major partner Newcastle Permanent for their contribution and ongoing support throughout the campaign. All 39 of Newcastle Permanent’s Hunter region branches were collection points for donations throughout the campaign. It’s been a fantastic achievement from everyone in 2016.

Above all, we whole-heartedly thank the entire Newcastle community for digging deep. Every dollar donated to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital will help make a difference to a sick child and their family.

Head of the Give Me Five For Kids Newcastle campaign, Carly Finch said: “We’re delighted to be able to donate to the John Hunter Children’s Hospital each year to help provide much needed equipment and services. The ongoing support from the people of Newcastle is outstanding!”

Newcastle Permanent CEO, Terry Millett said: “Newcastle Permanent has been proudly involved with Give Me 5 For Kids in Newcastle for the past five years, and our employees are so enthusiastic to support the appeal. Raising funds for equipment in John Hunter Children’s Hospital’s NICU ward is an important initiative and very close to the hearts of our employees, many of which have personally relied on the NICU services at some of the most difficult moments in their lives.

Give Me Five For Kids continues to grow with increased community support. From what started as a humble coin drive in the mid 90s, Give Me Five For Kids is now a nationwide annual campaign that has raised close to $20 million dollars for children’s wards and facilities across the country.
