A new talk radio star is born, but she’s A Twat

Through her new character Arrabella Twat, Robin Butler is doing to talk radio what she did to librarians. A Twat is billed as Melbourne’s 14th most popular talk radio presenter, parodying talk radio ranters in her webcammed radio shift. Does the background design of her mythical station 1ME 666 look familier?

radioinfo wonders if we will ever see a tv series for Arabella

Butler has told radioinfo she thinks “it’s best that Arrabella does all her talking/ranting through the clips themselves,” so did not want to be drawn further at this time about the character or the possibility of a tv series. She had great success with her ABC TV Librarians satire, which has recently gone into another series.

With her cleavage proudly on display, Arrabella rants about all the usual talk radio topics, and also takes web cam talkback from listeners, with cameos from some comedy mates posing as her fans. If there is any more news to report about Arrabella’s success Butler has promised that radioinfo readers will be amongst the first to know about it.

The mythical station Butler has invented actually has more links to radio than she may know. We presume she created 1ME as a station all about “me,” and chose triple 6 because it is the number of the beast.

But did she know that ‘1’ is the official call number for stations in Canberra? And that there is a talk station on air in Canberra that does indeed have the number of the beast as its call number – ABC 666 Canberra.

Spooky. A coincidence or a conspiracy?  Perhaps its something Ms Twat will ruminate on in one of her future broadcasts.
