New software optimises newsroom workflows

Lawo has launched a new virtual audio router, JADE 2.0, to allow journalists and news editors to operate more independently.

The tool is designed to work with newsroom applications to make journalists’ existing PCs easy-to-use production workstations and allow them to become mobile.

The software acts as a middleman between audio sources and audio applications, providing a unified interface to all audio applications.

Journalists can work on sound-bite editing, recording from internet livestreams, TV or radio programs, and conducting phone interviews using VoIP, all from the same dedicated studio or edit suite. It can also manage voice recordings, live interviews, events using external lines or codecs or multi-channel editing.

It also allows laptops to become mobile audio workstations with all the features needed to produce in locations like press conferences, hotel rooms or sporting and special events.
