The ABA has proposed additional community and narrowcasting radio services in the Emerald area of Queensland and is seeking public comment on the draft variation. The new proposals would increase the number of services in the area.

The proposal is to make a new community radio service available in Moranbah by changing the category of service of a Moranbah open narrowcasting service to a community licence.

The ABA is also proposing to make a new community radio service available at Blackwater and four additional open narrowcasting services available at Blair Athol.
