A new generation produces fresh imaging for 4BC

When Stuart West and his band The Down and Outs (pictured below left) presented their finished jingle package to 4BC back in 1964, management was so impressed, Stuart was convinced he’d be seeing more work from the Brisbane (then) music station.

It’s taken 50 years but finally Stuart’s stepson, Brett Johnson, landed a commission to produce a fresh jingle package for 4BC’s new 2014 line up.

Featuring vocalists’ Nyree Kilp and Geoff Robertson, the 6 styles of “Talking Brisbane” were launched with the new line up last week.

The package includes Contemporary, Rock, Acoustic, Funk, Groove and Dance versions.

Creative Director Greg Messenger, was also very impressed, saying ” Audio One transformed our brief into reality in very short time and really helped give 4BC a contemporary sound to complement our new announcer line up.” Brett’s hoping it won’t be another 50 years before he gets more work from the Fairfax station.

Brett, who has recorded industry giants such as The Angels, Crowded House, Jimmy Barnes and Julian Lennon, said, “It was great to hear that the creative team at BC wanted to utilise jingles for their stations image/promos and Id’s. If you want someone to listen, then say it. If you want someone to remember, then sing it!”
