New FM’s one question

Not everything in life goes the way we planned and when it doesn’t, it’s good to have close friends and family that you can talk to.

Whether it’s about something serious or something not so serious, it’s just good to have those conversations.

2020 has been a challenging year. Possibly the most challenging in our lifetime and it’s important that we support one another by reaching out and checking with our friends, family, colleagues and team mates .. Asking “R U OK?”

That single question could change someone’s life.

R U OK? is an Australian suicide prevention charity with a mission is to inspire and empower everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and to support anyone struggling with life.

Tomorrow, Thursday, 10th September is National R U OK? Day and from 6am, 105.3 NEWFM will practically become ‘R U OK? FM’ sharing personal stories, messages of support, information on how to get, or indeed give help to people around us.

“We are so proud to be delivering this important message to Newcastle and The Hunter especially in these very trying times when many people would feel alone and like they have no one to talk too. There is always someone willing to listen!”  said Matty from The NOVOS.

Joining NEWFM’s R U OK? Day broadcast are R U OK? Ambassadors plus local and National identities including Gav Morris, Darryl Braithwaite, Kyle Sandilands, City of Newcastle Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes, Newcastle Jets, Tiger Lily, Danny Buderus, Rob Mills and many more.

Tomorrow, make sure you ask someone .. R U OK?
