Commencing Monday 22^nd June, the new JOY Drive show will be hosted 5 days per week by Anastasia Kalogiannis and Warren Andrew, airing from 4:00pm-6:00pm.

 
Recently, JOY 94.9 Australia’s LGBTIQA+ independent community radio station announced the launch of a new JOY Breakfast with The Murphys, funded by generous philanthropists Geoffrey Smith and Gary Singer.
 
Today, JOY announces the second stage of their partnership with the JOY patrons, a five day per week JOY Drive Show, hosted by Anastasia and Warren.
 
JOY 94.9 CEO Ange Barry says of this decision, “Geoffrey and Gary’s belief in supporting independent community media has enabled us to introduce a second paid team who have both volunteered with JOY for many years, boosting our consistency of sound which is critical to our survival in a rapidly evolving media space”.
 
Of the current drive show presenters, some of them will continue pursuing opportunities at JOY, including new spots on the grid, pitches for new JOY TV shows and taking on new leadership roles.
 
“To our wonderful volunteers who have presented drive programs for many years at JOY, I wish to thank you all, and look forward to seeing you continue to deliver content through JOY’s existing and evolving mediums including JOY 94.9 Radio, JOY TV, JOY News and more!”, added Barry.
 
Anastasia has been involved with JOY for at least ten years as a breakfast, drive and solo presenter, while Warren became involved with JOY when it first started, however the demands of his career drove him away from his love of radio.  Twenty-five years later, he returned to the JOY airwaves as a presenter.
 
The duo met in 2016 when Anastasia barged into the studio and demanded Warren’s attention whilst he was on air in one of his first solo shifts. Their instant connection was undeniable, and their mutual love of radio and genuine friendship lead them to present both JOY Breakfast and JOY Drive at various times throughout the past four years.
The two have been inseparable since, and say they can’t wait to get back on the air waves and connect with their audience.
