New community licence for Yass

The ABA has invited applications for a new community radio licence in Yass on FM 100.3 MHz.

ABA Chairman David Flint explained that the licence had been called for some time ago, but had not been allocated at that time. “The ABA is pleased to recommence the allocation … [we] previously sought applications in December 1999 [but] decided not to allocate the licence… As two years have passed since that decision, the ABA feels the aspirant group should be given another opportunity to apply for the licence and demonstrate that it now has the capacity to satisfy the criteria.”

Applicants should contact the ABA’s Licensing Section on 1800 226 667 for information booklet. Applications close on Tuesday 16 July.
